Lisa Jablonski
Click to enlargeI first met Lisa in the 11th grade. She was a very sweet and somewhat shy young woman. I always felt she had a beautiful honesty and trust to her spirit. I got to know her more after high school as we worked in some of the same job locations. We always found things to laugh about, even through the madness of work and daily life. I enjoyed working with her, as she could always see the good in people and bring out the lightness of humankind in everyone. I can remember her talking about her illness—she, with such unbelievable courage, one like I have never witnessed before. She never let on that she was afraid but always seemed at peace with her time here with us all. She will forever be in my heart, and her smile and strength an experience I will never forget.

Todd Knapp
Click to enlargeI want people to remember Todd for the kind person he was, for the wonderful listener he was, and for how it was a pleasure sharing the hours talking on my front porch about the two different worlds we came from. I will never forget him, from the time we became friends in Mrs. Gross’ 8th-grade English class, to the last time I spoke to him, which was around halfway through college.

Craig Liberatore
Click to enlargeMr. Liberatore, Cara, and Cristi: Hopefully you will remember me. Through the passage of time, it is inevitable that you lose contact with many childhood friends. Even though you were good friends in school, you take different paths, and convince yourself that you will stay in touch. Unfortunately, that rarely happens. It is always in the back of your mind, that you should contact the friend that was so important to you during your formative years. In our busy lives you always think there is more time. Sadly, that is not always the case. I have many fond memories of Craig and your family; playing basketball and being an altar boy with Craig at Alpha, the hospitality when I stayed at your home, and the memory I will never forget, the 1979 Pirates World Series games, that you graciously took me to. I will always associate that enduring and exhilarating experience with Craig. These and many other memories are permanently etched in my memory. Regrettably I had not contacted Craig in twenty-six years, but I am heartened that Craig appeared to accomplish so much. I am truly saddened by this news and I hope God will give you solace in your loss.

Will Miller
Click to enlargeI spent some time with Will in high school, as we managed to stay out of real trouble. He was a super-sweet guy, with a deep compassion in his heart for everyone. After high school, I can remember hanging out with him the night before he enlisted in the military service. It was a wild and crazy night, with much more than I could ever express. One of his good friends and I sent him packing the next day. We all joked how he was off to be "GI Joe" and how strapping he looked in his uniform, a real Man now. He always had a big smile to offer up, and an ear to listen to your problems. He had that sweet twinkle in his eyes that always made you wonder what he was up to; and I often knew it was trouble and joined him anyway! Truly a wonderful man, he will be forever remembered.

Jeff Wahl
Click to enlargeI remember the fun-loving Jeff, who would show up at my door at midnight sometimes with friends; and he always had the joy in his spirit to share. He seemed to me, at many times, as if he was well aware of how life was changing for us all. As if he had carried some wisdom to live for the moment and for the day. He was always willing to go and do anything for the experience. I always felt like he had an open heart and a sweet nature about him. His beautiful eyes, full of life and love of it. I will always remember his off-the-cuff comments and always wanting to kid around. I always felt comfortable around him no matter where he was or how he got there. He is still missed today; his friends will always remember him and his playful spirit.

Jim Wolfe
Click to enlargeJim and I did not keep in touch after high school, but I never felt that our friendship ended. I will always remember Jim and Brian Wilbur, attached at the hip, riding around in Brian's "Mustard Mobile." The day we were all at North Park, partying, the last day of school in eleventh grade. How the cops came, and how Jim was so cool with them. All they did was pour out our booze and let us go. Jim dated my sister for some time, so my family came to love him. He was very successful after high school. He owned his own construction company, Wolfe Construction. He was tragically killed on March 22, 2004, in a job-site accident. He left behind a beautiful young daughter whom he loved very much.
