Magician Tom Interval creating new websites for reference, nostalgia

SAN DIEGO–Oct. 31, 2011–San Diego magician Tom Interval is in the process of creating three new reference websites for magic enthusiasts, researchers, students and others interested in the history and hobby of magic.

  • Houdini Museum (www.houdinimuseum.org)
This website already exists as Houdini in The New York Times, a resource listing Houdini-related articles and letters published in the Times from 1910 to 1983. However, Interval is rebuilding it to include new sections with biographical information, images, videos, a bibliography, a detailed timeline and links to additional resources.
  • EZ Magic (www.ezmagic.org)
This website will be a comprehensive beginner's guide to magic as a hobby. Designed for children and adults, the site will include a brief history of magic and magicians, information on how to learn magic tricks and theory, a bibliography, a glossary and links to additional resources.
  • Hollywood Magicians (www.hollywoodmagicians.com)
This will be a nostalgic website highlighting fictional and real-life magicians portrayed on television and classic radio dramas and in film, theater and literature. The site will include episode guides, profiles and galleries.

“These websites will have information I wish I had access to when I was a kid growing up in the 1970s and ’80s,” said Interval. “While there are many magic-related sites out there, I'm hoping mine will be unique in terms of subject matter and how comprehensive, attractive and easy to navigate they are.”

Each of the sites will be free to use, and Interval hopes to launch them by this time next year. For updates, please visit www.intervalmagic.com.
