HOUDINI DISCHARGED IN COURT

His accuser of disorderly conduct failing to appear in West Side Court yesterday morning, Harry Houdini, handcuff king, was discharged by Magistrate Edward Well. Houdini’s appearance followed a summons obtained by the Francis P. Houdina Company, electric and radio supply dealers, one of whose managers, George Young, on July 21 charged Houdini with coming to their offices the evening before and attacking him because some of his mail and express matter had been delivered to the supply dealers. The similarity of the firm’s name and Houdini’s often caused confusion of the mails, Houdini was said to have charged. Young claimed that Houdini struck him and damaged office furniture.
